One of the biggest challenges is keeping customers engaged and having them successfully complete the program. It is so rewarding when you see a customer complete their program and find employment in the field.
One thing that I have learned about communication is that sometimes it is better to have a conversation in person of over the phone. These modes of communication make someone's tone easier to understand.
This module helped me to see that I need to ask more questions when thinking of ways to solve a problem.
Put together an agenda and send it out before the meeting. Structure the meeting in a way that gives all the stakeholders a chance to share their thoughts. Respect everyone's time and keep the meeting on track. Follow up after the meeting with minutes and suggested times for the next meetings.
Leaders that have been successful in persuading stakeholders have done so by providing facts and data to support their positions. They have been passionate about there needs but have remained respectful and flexible when differences arise.
